First let me start by saying that I am not looking for a handout / easy street / and investor,, etc. I'm looking for someone that would like to teach. I dont normally get personal with people, its just not me. I will however give a little information so you know I'm Serious.

For the past 6 years I've worked my butt off in a corporate environment. I loved the worked, i loved the long hours (70ish+ a week), I enjoyed being busy. I have no college education and knew that meant i needed to bust my ass to prove my worth. In a short period of time I did just that to make it to the head of my division in a Nasdaq 100 company. (telecom)

Last year I was forced to leave my job for medical reasons. (cancer without too many details) I spent prety much all of my savings (substantial for a 24 yo, non-college grad) and quite a bit of time in Europe to try and better myself.

I've now been given a second chance at life. I have ALWAYS wanted to be involved in the bar/nightclub industry. I've met with promoters, DJs, toured some clubs in the Denver area but never took another step. Fear of instability. Well stability doesnt matter now lol

I am getting to start fresh. I've lost everything I worked hard for but I like to look at it differently. I've got a fresh start at life and a fresh start at attacking my dream. Life is too short to do what the world thinks you should do.

I'm willing to volunteer my time, work for you if your willing, errands,,, Ill take the freaking trash out lol I want to learn the business from someone that knows it. Ground up. I want to learn methodology, ins and outs, laws. LIsten to stories of whatever you feel is relevant.

Im in the Houston area so it would be great to find someone in this area. I fly for free so to show my dedication, if you got time to show me around or share stories, im more than willing to fly to you for a weekend or however long you may need/want me there. As long as I am learning.

I've followed this forum off and on for the past 3 or so years. Off and on as time has allowed and I figure, what the hell. If anyone is willing or knows of someone that is willing, this is the place. I know how to work, i know how to listen, i know how to follow what im told. More importantly, i know when to admit I'm in over my head or wrong.

Thanks guys for reading. Sorry if it was a little drawn out lol

I don't know how much you think you could learn in one weekend. If you want to learn everything, then it is going to take a while. You would need to learn how to bar back, bartend, learn the doorman position, then up to learning what it takes to manage, promote, order liquors, paperwork, etc. An internship might work since you are willing to learn and in return work for free. In this economy, it is difficult to find any work especially in my area. What kind of bar/nightclub are you interested in?

I'm well aware that its going to take a long while. When I said weekend, i was saying I can fly out anywhere on the weekends. It can be every weekend for all I care. Time and dedication is there, just need the guidance.
