I'm curious as to how folks found partners for their businesses? Did you work with them and decide to go into biz together? Did you know them through the local scene? Did you advertise in trade press?

The best partners you could ever have are family.
The second best partners you could ever have are former co-workers. (Preferably long term types that you know and can read).
The third best partners you could ever have are "other" private investors, that you may know through personal acquaintances.
And the worst partners are your best friends. Never go into a project with someone simply because they are your best friend. Especially if one or the other has never worked in the biz.
Those are the worst partnerships and most end up in court.
Be cautious! Remember, someone has to put their ass on the line (excuse my language, but it makes sense in this argument), in the end.
Be smart! Do your homework before you dive into a project and seek the advice and consultation of those who know the biz.
And lastly, find the money! The money is out there, you just need to prove that you are organized, and have a CLEAR plan!
