A problem I and other bars have is anonymous noise complaints for live bands playing outside. It just seems so ridiculous, why wouldn't people expect outside live music in an entertainment district? Certainly the cops have better things to do. Thankfully I had the ordinance readily available to show the cops that they were reading for residential decibel limits as opposed to commercial zoning (different of course). I did agree to turn the band down anyway. Horns, percussion, wind & humidity all factors in sound travel.

are you sure that the other bars are not the ones who are calling on you ? there is nothing you can do about it except deal with the cops when they come and maybe have a db meter so you can show them.

read an article in the Palm Beach Post, the City & the Cops are going after all the bars in Lake Worth for decibel limits. people move to a downtown entertainment district and expect what? silence? bars needs lobbyists.
