Everyone please weigh in on this!!!
Guys I have had the same thoughts about the teen club/center idea, and I think there are a lot of others who are interested in starting a teen club. I posted on the internet a while back seeking info about teen clubs, and from time to time I get emails from people asking me to share any ideas that I had learned in reference to starting a teen club.

I was thinking...."experienced guys please weigh in on this"
The startup for a night club is pretty much the complete cost of buying a home in NYC, this dream of starting one is quite far fetched to most of us who possess the passion of one day opening one. How much people actually work and save up for the complete cost of a home. Most people have to save a down payment and then they try to use this and get financing, since night clubs are a risky business getting financing without assets for a nightclub venture is close to impossible, so The "work and save up solution", which I heard on this board is kind of giving advice without giving advice, because saving up and buying is kind of how you buy anything!

I think the people are looking for advice on different ways of building the money.

Stop me if I am wrong....
The major costs of the night club would be:

- The venue
- furniture and fixtures (including the sound and lighting and bar
stuff)
- The Staff
- licenses (liquor license etc...)

What if someone was able to setup one kind of a business that could ultimately lead to the end result, a "night club" with different nights, including one night for the original startup, "the teen club."

Starting a teen club first...you wouldn't need the bar fixtures/liquor licenses, or lighting until you earn with the teen club.

also for some of the teen community oriented things you could get grants if you included educational things, also if you go non profit with the teen thing you can own a venue instead of leasing. The non profit would be for the one night with with the teen club, and the other nights could be for profit.

I don't have all of the answers, but I think that a very important aspect of starting the nightclub business is coming up with ideas of coming up with the financing, and most of the people that are asking for advice on starting a club, are looking for ideas on coming up with the cash!

Can you experience guys weigh in on this teen club idea....I think it is a good one, to dismiss it with...work at a club first is missing the point!!!!!

Hey omari7,
You've got some good questions, some I can't answer, and some others here can. Right now I am working for a teen club managing promotions. Raising capital is the first and most difficult step in opening the establishment. Having a good credit history is key. If you don't have money in the family and you don't have a wealthy partner you will have to barrow it. An extensive business plan with a detailed market analysis, promotion and reimbursement plan is mandatory if you will be barrowing most of your capital. Sorry I can't further help.

Hopefully David and cheek will chime in on this.
