I am looking for some help with market research, specifically to determine if the Nashville, TN market will support a new club that would be unique to the area.
Thank you (kindly).

you will have to get your own research, i doubt any one will give you there own. call your local chamber of commerce and they will have alot of the info you need. also use the internet, i have found almost everything i have ever needed there. if you are serious about the business then do the work yourself ! you will be better off in the long run.

Thanks, but I don't have any idea what I should be looking for.
What information would I try to get from the CoC? I used the Internet to find this place.
What I want is information that will lead to an understanding of the market for a club such as we wish to open. I've looked at "competition" in the area, but that only tells so much as our concept is unique to this area. We're either going to get customers from somebody else or get them to get out of the house on nights they otherwise wouldn't, most likely the former.
That's why I'm looking for an entity that performs such a service.

all you can get from the chamber is data like age's, race's, income's, job info, stuff like that. if you are looking for what beer people like or how often they go out or where they go then you will have to hire someone as this is just too specific for a city to have and you won't find it online as far as i know. i would sugest that you take a couple of weeks and go out every night and talk to people and see where they go and what they do. call the chamber and talk to them, they are usually very friendly and will help you more than you think. mike

I'm new to the network here.
From the CoC you can get Demographic info.
From alcohol suppliers you can gauge the COGs and Returns
Try the utility companies for expenses.
Add 25% if you think these numbers are low.
Cut your expectations in 1/2 for the first 6 months and plan on being done with it in 18 months. This way you may be pleasantly suprised but won't be shocked by bad news.
Contact Local authorites, zoning, police, fire etc. to see about location problems.
That's where I started.
Good luck
