I feel very lucky to run across this forum.

I have been trying to do some research on the equipment for the start up cost of a sports bar. Dp you guys have any good links. I am really interested in finding out the prices for the TV's that get installed in the wall grouped together and you can have for screens turn into one large screen. I would like to have the sports bar be really high tech so the people will want to be in the club. I am also thinking about offering free wifi for the people that want to do some sports investments. LOL!!!

I think it really just depends A LOT on what you want. If you're going with all 50'' plasma flat screens expect to pay atleast $5k each. If your going with old school projection tv's and you don't care if they're thin, you could probably get 35-40'' for under $1k.

Same goes for the installation. If you're having to take down an existing wall and rebuild it, it's going to cost you some money. If you simply want to mount a sort of large entertainment center against it, this will cost substantially less. It also makes a huge difference whether you plan to do the work yourself or actually hire a contractor.

I have no clue about the multiple tv screens to 1.

The wifi is fairly easy as long as the location has high speed internet access.

Overall, you need to get out and do some research at the bookstore, and visiting sports bars that you really like. We can't do much to help with these broad questions, but once you have more of an idea of exactly what you want you'll get more constructive input.

from what i know, relatively inexpensive for a club, kinda pricey for a home...

they usually have one in the TV department of BEST BUY up on the wall... i asked the manager at one time how much the video wall was and he told me it was a lil over 9 G's...

he coulda pulled that number outta his ... hat?... because he didnt wanna look dumb, but if he was tellin me the truth, you are looking at 9 large flat screens that can be linked together to show one show on all 9, with the upper tvs showing the upper frames of the picture and so forth, as well as the ability to play 9 different channels...

just my opinion, but thats more of a one channel use thing than anything else... if i am trying to watch a game on the tv in the center and i got 8 other games playin within inches of my screen, it will be a serious distraction... cant say i would like it at all....

for 9 G's maybe you could look into a nice projector and a screen that drops from the ceiling... save you some money and you can disperse the other tvs throughout the bar for multiple sports...

Keep an eye on e-bay for a good used video wall. I purchased one there that was taken out of a footware store and it works great. If you look at buying them new you will spend anywhere from $60,000 up. I bought mine for $5,000. Just make sure the seller has good feedback and do your research before you bid.
