I am currently trying to open a bar in San Antonio, Texas. I have been in the industry for over nine years. I have done everything from manage to unplug commodes. This is a bonafide million dollar bar. Nothing extravagant, just a nice, upscale bar which will cater to an upscale, good looking crowd who prefers good times to bar fights. I have the ideas and the business plan, however I DO NOT have the funds. If anyone has an outlet for me to acquire the money and/or knows of anyone who is interested in opening a successful bar please let me know.

Have you tried the local banks? They will help you get in touch with the SBA.

Once you open I could probably help you aquire working capital. AdvanceMe Inc. provides upfront money for businesses and the advance + interest is paid off over time through your Visa/MasterCard sales at a small % discount off each sale. We advance up to $125,000 per location if you qualify.

Deisel, I too am located in S.A. and also interested in opening a bar. Finances have pushed me back another two years before I meet my goals for opening {asking the bank for as little as possible, damn hard to get a loan for a bar}. My email is in my profile. Lets talk shop.

Banks are very reluctant to give out money to this type of business. In my line of work I have seen people with perfect credit get denied funding. my company can , however, provide funding once you open....

How Bizarre! I too live in San Antonio, and am wanting to open up a bar. The financing seems to be my biggest issue. Because I am a woman, and a minority, I was wondering if anyone knew of any grants to assist me in opening up my own bar? I have contacted SBA, but have not moved forward with that much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I know, this sounds like a strange way to raise money for a bar. But community colleges often offer courses in small business fanancing and management. They can help you put together a business plan that has a chance of getting funding, and they can put you in touch with a variety of resources, including SBA, SCORE, and various grants and loans.
