Hey guys, I need a good promotion checklist. I am trying to cover all my bases and was wondering if anyone uses anything that covers whether or not it was good or bad. I am going to put on a Christmas in July promotion and want to look good in front of my boss. Please Please help me on this. You can IM the form or the layout or email it to me. Thanks for your help.

It all comes down to a personalized check list - everyone has a different one.
You've just got to write down all the steps that are invloved in your promotion: timelines, give-a-ways, etc. etc.
What is your event about? What is the purpose? What are the rewards for attending? Think about it...
Who have you been speaking with in order to get this event to fruition? Now, think about how it should operate. Start laying out the TIMELINE and what will occur. Now what other specific info follows into that timeline?
Example:
9PM - Liqour promo arrive to set up area
9:30PM - Review with promo people what their objectives are
10:00PM - Promo begins
sort of like that.

Here's the one that I have used for years.
Promotion Concept: Place the Name of the Promotion Here.
Promotion Originator: The Name of the Person(s) who created the Promotion.
Promotion Coordinator: The Name of the Person(s) that will Coordinate the Promo and Insure its Success.
Support Materials/Supplies: List any items that you will need to support the promo. Posters, Table Tents, Decorations etc.
Length of Promotion: Total length of the promotion. One day, one week, one month or on going.
Time, Dates and Night(s) the Promotion will run: List the start stop times and the nights that the promotion will run.
Staff Support: List any additional staff, their duties and special attire here if any.
Prizes: List all prizes here. List by category i.e. Purchased prizes, vendor supplied prizes and any beverages that will be given away during the promo.
Drink Specials: List all Drink Specials and discounts here.
Tie-ins: List your entire vendor Tie-ins here. List by name and what they supplied. These will be local businesses and your beer/liquor suppliers that co-sponsor the promo.
Total Cost of the Promotion: T-shirts $XXXX, Radio $XXXX, Flyers $XXXX, employee attire $XXXX, prizes $XXXX, support materials $XXXX, liquor profit/losses $XXXX.
Cover Charge: Example: No cover charge 5-9p, $2.00 9p-1:30a.
Door Count: Place your total end of night door count here. Or you can do an hourly count to better track your day parts. This will help gauge the promotion.
Daily/Weekly/Monthly Promotion Review: As the promo runs, keep track of the promotion particulars.
Completion of Promotion Review: This is where you assemble your staff and critique the promotion. Upside down and backwards. Did it work? What were its strong points and it’s weak points. Was the run of the promo to short or too long and etc?
Promotion Description:
Provide a very detailed description of the promotion.
Promotion Purpose:
Besides the obvious, give the promotion a purpose.
