is gone except for the final tax payments. Educational to say the least. We had to make a large number of adjustments as the year progressed. I am sure that others did this also. We ended down 18.7 % from 2008 in gross sales. If my accountant is to be believed, we only lost a bit over a thousand dollars for the year. He had to have missed something. I haven't delved into the books too far at this time in an effort to find my answers for fear that I might find a profit. I am looking for anything that might pick up my busy days now in an effort to take a run at 2010. Alcohol is becoming a harder sell at all times and places in this state. This change will take new blood in the business to continue growth. Good luck in the year to come.

it's because he was being creative with his numbers. only 18% ? not to bad. im sure you had a few places go under by you right ? and your still surviving ! it will get better this year.

We have had a few places go under or not reopen after closing because of the market conditions. A couple more have opened and found rough sleding.

to this thread for some reason. My apoligies. We currently have three bars in a two block area with a fourth one just getting their license. Local population is about 1200 with that many more within five miles which would also include three other small towns and another four bars. Kind of crowded for bars. Business is slowly starting to increase, first quarter numbers are very close to last years.
