friend of mine is a wealthy businessman who dabbles in a few areas. he owns a restaurant/lounge that was recently ran into the ground by a couple of wanna be big shots that think they were running the new version of Studio 54.

he has come to me for help in rebuilding his spot. he says he will "drop a little something to remodel". turns out he is talking somewhere around 125 Gs

he offers me total control if i accept the offer to manage and DJ for him.

tempting offer when all is said and done. but what direction do i take the new place?

the old place went from an upscale cafe type lounge spot to thug paradise. some shady promoters and shadier managers coupled with a millionaire absentee owner spelled doom for the venue.

its a nice spot in a prime location. parking is a small issue. the venue is medium sized. maybe 400 people. he did ask that i try to keep the restaurant portion of it active.

so......

What kind of market are you in? What other clubs/formats are surrounding you? Is there another format there that you feel is not being done right and you can do better?

The only possible downside is the reputation that might still haunt that location. I know that from experience having been in a situation where a club I joined from the start and programmed occupied a place where it was Ghetto Town.

This sounds like a great opportunity...I love opps like this. Good luck! :)

i knew this was going to be asked...

i should have mentioned it already but, this club is in the downtown portion of the city where every kind of venue can be found from local bars to more mature (translation: older folks commonly 40 and 50+ years old clientele) type clubs, to high energy dance venues and gay clubs...

the area is absolutely saturated with hot spots but fortunately there are enough "party people" so everyone can stay open and have success.

this friend of mine is a great guy that got screwed bad and lost a ton of dough and now hes fighting that uphill fight that you had Pro, he has gotta get the bad taste out of everyones mouth that reminds them of the set of a rap video everytime they think of his place... big chains and cristal, throwbacks and big booty hoes just arent for everybody.

though the latter has a cause for arguement.
:D
thanks man

check our your private message. I think the owner would be thrilled to know about my company and how we can give nightlcubs/restaurants money without collateral to help him with cash flow or working capital-
