Unusual Request

I know that this isn't technically the right catagory to put this in but it's the closest you've got.

I'm a student studying in England - currently in my second year of a building design course, and for a final project I have been asked to design the construction/renovation of a nightclub and advise my client accordingly.

My first problem is finding the official material on English law and legislation surrounding nightclubs i.e. sound, fire, capacity regulations ect. I can't seem to find anywhere that gives these laws specifically for this type of constrction. Also i'd would like to hear your views on these laws and how you, as owners, have satisfied them.

My other problem is that i've decided to put in for renovation of a current building, but finding plans for one to use in the design has proven too difficult and so if anyone is feeling particually generous and would like to sent me details of their building so I could use it in the project, it would be much appreciated. Yes, I do relised that any information is a longshot, but i figured if I didn't ask - i'd never know. :]

You sould have some type of City, County or State Building Department.

UBC- Universal Building Code

There are the national building code that Dave mentions. Each city here in the States has its own codes as well. Here's a link to the ones for Chicago which has some of the toughest. New York has also always been a standard to go by.
