Alrighty.... I've got a good one.... so I think...

If you don't know, I'm in the process of starting my own club. Working for several world conglmorates, I've done just about all there is to do in the industry... except the day-to-day books that doesn't deal with revenue.

So, I pose this question to the group...

If NightClub "X," down the street is open 5 nights a week, and employs 60 people to work during the week; and NightClub "Y," my nightclub is open 5 nights a week, and employs 40 FULL TIME people (benefits and such...) would that be a better investment than the cheap labor?

Please look at it from all views...
- teamwork
- payroll
- insurance costs
- atmosphere
- standard of 'care'
- loyality
- standard of service
- retention (training costs...)
- (anything else that I missed)

Any thoughts or concerns for me?!?

Thanks!

Steffen:

Can you afford to employ your staff as full-time? That's a lot of module. That's why most do it as part-time or a minimum number of hours. If you can do it, more power to you. You will have the ability to pick and chose your employees. Everybody needs health insurance.

You've heard me tell this story a while back. A club owner in my market provides insurance, paid vacation and sick leave to all of his employees. He has been open for over twenty years and he's still going strong with the same employees.

As for the advantages or disadvantages, I'd need to set down and look at the numbers.
