Facebook Fan Page... opened my eyes

Well, I wanted to express my opinion about Facebook. I never believed Facebook could be a good form of marketing. I'm sure, like most of you we ignore most event invitations we get, or never join group invitations.

But! I feel with Facebook Fan pages, Facebook nailed it. They allow customizable static HTML aka FBML as well as several other powerful tools. It's unbelieavble the response I personally got, we are in a completely different form of marketing, SMS marketing so for us to use Facebook seemed like we would be side tracking.

In 2 days we've gotten over 90 fans! And made nearly that many sales, new sales; that was business that wasn't there before. I'm in no way related to facebook, but I really wanted to share our success by taking that leap.

I truly hope and would highly recommend that anyone in ANY business build a Facebook Fan Page now, I feel the technology has matured that people take it seriously. Remeber when cell phones came out, they were a gimmick, now we can't do anything without them. I feel the same applies to this concept.

Just an update guys! I have over 311 people on my fan page in 2 weeks. Our sales have gone through the roof, as well it's given our company an outlet to update our evolving products.

Sounds great but I just have one question. What is customizable static HTML? Could you go in more detail about that if you can because I am very interested.

It's Facebook's own code! It's called FBML, you should check it out... definitely makes your Facebook Page look hot!

It's the same idea that myspace tried, some pages look good, some pages look crappy and all of the pages are not standardized HTML coding.

Actually I am surprised that Facebook decided to go down this road again.

Facebook fan pages are great. I have over 7500 fans on one page, 2000 on my lounge's page. People suscribing to it are loyal customers mostly, so they are the best crowd to market too.

Twitter and MySpace can also be great tools, depending in wich aera you live in.

Not that I've seen... it's pretty much the same as web design. If you have someone that's good at that they will be able to do the same.
