Well boys and girls, I have done it. After a couple of years of planning and about a year of putting the wheel on this cart I am open up and running.
About two and a half weeks ago, I quitely pulled the chain on the open sign and started serving food, in ARTIFACTS BAR AND GRILLE. I had a few details for the state , finger prints and tax numbers to finish up with, so for the first week, I gave limited domestic beers and red and white wine to my customers . That ended last week.
This past mid week, we got some small amounts of stock--imports, domestic and basic spirits, dewars, jack, etc.
I am generally cautious with my outlook and always know, as soon as you think you are moving , you can quickly get a flat tire. But I did want to share with you that without a drop of promotion or advertising we are poised to do really well.
For the past two Friday and Saturday nights , we have been full in the dining room and the bar area. (last week) had twenty people waiting for a table. Again this week we had all the tables full and a nice flow in and out of the bar.
We still have a ton of details and process to work out and find our flow, but if I can say so myself, it feels pretty good. It may just be one of those places that hits ! I hope so.
We are working a lounge type feel with the standard, dean martin, sinatra, davis, etc. This weekend we have Lisa Casalino, a female singer doing the same style of music.
I will not go into my needs with this post, but as time permits I will see what advice I can get from those of you who have been here before me.
