Ok, I'll share what I'm doing with the world, in a hope some one posts some good promotion ideas on here for not only me, but for every one to use.
I find most people aim at couples around valantines day, which is the whole point of the day, but what about the people who are single? Promotion aiming at single people in encouraging to make friends, and break the ice with other people.
I'm doing a weekend event in my club.
Tuesday 11th Feb, is the "Pre Valantines Party", for our student night.
Thursday 13th Feb is my Birthday, so going to do a "Managers Birthday Party".
Friday 14th Feb - "The Name Game"
Saturday 15th Feb - "Traffic Light Party" and Tribute singer.
THE NAME GAME
Simple, very cheap and fun. A number of famous couples are worked out and written down, these couples from TV shows, films, real life. So for instance "Micky Mouse" is coupled with "Minnie Mouse", "Ross" would be coupled with "Rachel". Each name is written on to a label. On entry in to the club, the guys get a sticker with the man name, and the girls get a sticker with the woman name. These are random. You then have to go find your famous partner in the club. It is worth while putting on the sticker in smaller letters who they are looking for.
Then at a good "hit point" of the night, you get famous couples up, and then get them to kiss. The most passionate wins a prize, say a bottle of champagne or a cocktail to share.
I did this promotion in a club, 2 years ago, the winners, started seeing each other and got married, which was a massive PR later.
It is worth while having the smae couples 2 or 3 times, for people who just don't wanna get involved.
TRAFFIC LIGHT PARTY
I'm promoting this as a "Post Valantines Party" for the 15th, dragging out a promotional weekend.
Basically you get people to dress in diffrent colours of a traffic light, RED, AMBER (YELLOW/ORANGE) or GREEN.
Red means there with someone, green means there up for pulling, Amber, well who knows. This works with stickers too.
