HI MY NAME IS JOE. I AM LOOKING TO OPEN A NEW CLUB FOR MYSELF AND I HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS. 1.> WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO BORROW OR LOAN MONEY? 2.> IS THE BIG CITY MARKET WORTH IT WITH ALL OF THE HIGHER COSTS OR SHOULD I JUST STAY SUBURBAN? RENT AND TAXES FALL HIGHER IN THE CITY, SO I AM NOT SURE WHICH IS THE BETTER BET. I KNOW THAT POPULATION WOULD OFFSET BUT I'M JUST AFFRAID OF SATURATION OF CHICAGO BARS. 3.> IF ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL I WOULD GREATLY APPRICATE IT. THIS WILL BE MY FIRST BAR AND I WANT TO KNOW EVERYTHING THAT I CAN BEFORE I GET INTO IT. I KNOW ALOT ALREADY BUT KNOWING TOO MUCH CAN NEVER HURT.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

joejak -

First off, welcome to the site!

The first thing you're going to want to do is take a look around this forum. A lot of questions can be answered, and ideas sought for just by looking around.

When you're posting questions, be as specific as possible. We are from all over the WORLD, and EVERY market is different - Different with it's demographics, laws, and culture.

As for your questions... -
1 - Money? You've got to know your stuff, and convince other people that you aren't going to fail. Best place to look for money?? Friends and Family.

2 - Location? That's for you to decide... you said that you don't know about the saturation? You need to find a place that will work to YOUR advantage. Location is Key, and will make and break any business.

3 - Size? Is going to depend on a number of factors, like, Money available, liquor laws, licenses... You'll know the mix when you see it.

Hope this helps you get started... Best of Luck!

PS - You might want to *NOT* type in all-caps. It's portrayed as you're yelling. FYI -
