Hey. I am working on writing a business plan for a high school entrepreneurship class and I was wondering what some promotions for getting people in during the week is. Would it be feasable to change music genres during the week? I would like to also have a stage to host bands for live entertainment. Would it work to have these shows be all ages?

Also, I have to find a location for the club in the Kansas City Metro area. Anyone have any advice as to where I should look to find a location. What exactly would I be looking for in a place.

Any advice would help. Thanks

Haha, you're doing the exact same thing as I am...except I'm in the Chicago area. If you find any good information online let me know!

To answer your questions we need a lot more information on your place IE is this a corner bar / pub, is it a nightclub, is it a lounge? What is the capacity? One room or numerous rooms? How many bars? What is your target demographic? Is your bar themed IE if located by a wharf does it have a wharf theme? See what I mean? Can you imagine running a hip hop night in a wharfed theme corner bar with a 40 - 70 white male demographic?

No offense but we get a lot of people asking for business information for business plans and we have nothing with which to answer accurately. Promotions come well after all other information has been thouroughly considered but I have noticed that a lot of people start with promotions they want to run and then back engineer the specifics I queried in para 1.

CRRman -

You should probably take a look at the promotions board to get different ideas for getting people in during the week.

As for all ages shows in **MISSOURI** ... there are very particular laws, and STICKY regulations that must be followed and met before you can have an all ages show, with liquor being served.

There must be a portion of your revenue that is not based off of liquor sales. "Based off of liquor sales" includes mixes for drinks, cover charges, "promotion" charges. What is counted as "non-liquor related" are items such as donations, food, non-alcholic bev's, merchandise, tournament fees (billiards), game revenue (video games)... items that are not related to bar sales.

Send me a PM with you're e-mail, and I'll give you some ideas for your paper. Who is your teacher at LHS? I graduated from there as well...

This was a post for info for a HIGH SCHOOL PAPER. Not for starting a club. No offense, but you may want to read the entire post before replying.

Correct but a BUSINESS PLAN requires some basic start points that I assume he already had since he is now going to the promotions and was trying to see what he already developed so I could answer his query.
