Hello All,

My partners (group) and I are looking forward to form an LLC to start our first night club with a very knowledgeable CEO (first time in night club business, but managing some sort of business for the last 20 years and currently running his own business) and a 5 years experience club manager/promoter and I'm a rookie in the business as well, but happen to know many investors. We made a list of candidates (friends) to fill our bar manager position, yet everyone turn down our offer because they don't want to relocate to Iowa from a big city (yeah, i know why hehe). I was wondering can anyone show us how/where to find our needed staff so that we can fill in our missing bar manager positionand how much should we pay them (our club manager say anywhere from 24k to 36k because of the differential between big city and midsize city salary)? Our club are 7,200 sq. ft with a capacity of 250+, opening 4 nights/week. We are thinking of the following ideas to find our bar manager.

Local Newspaper
Hiring Sign
Word of Mouth
Promoting a bartender to bar manager (but lack of experience will hurt for a new night club)

Any of your helps are appreciated.

Thank You

Mike

You have a unique situation. All your ideas can work, but you may find that nobody in the area has the proven qualifications that you want for a new venue. Many people with proven skills are not willing to step down for the salary or location. You need someone who is qualified and looking for a way up and out of where they are (probably a small town)

Try the Internet. Monster.com or Craigslist.com You could find someone who is highly qualified and willing to move for a step up from where they are now.

P.S. check your private messages!!
