Hey you guys and gals!!
Is there a site or does anyone know of or have access to a GOOD training video or manual for Servers and bartenders? I have received a full training manual from Fox and Hound and Chili's. But they are so corporate and dry I am not sure it will work for me. All the help is greatly appreciated..Kali

Well first of all. I would like to cover customer service, and important items like that. I would like some items on upsales, talking with the customer. This would cover bar and servers alike.
I have been on this site called extremebartending.com try them out

I don't have a training manual per se. Your employees should always up sell. It can mean an additional 20 to 30 percent or more in gross revenues.
Here's how our ****tails and Bartenders do it. If someone orders a vodka-cranberry, they always say is Grey Goose, or some other Premium liquor, OK? The customer went from purchasing a $3.50 well drink to a $5.50 Top Shelf beverage. The term "well" has always meant "cheap", whereas beverage is more upper crust. We monitor each of the staffs sales and let them know who up sells the most. We have even had contests to help make it more prevalent and common place. Your liquor reps like to help when it comes to in-house sales contests. Ask them.
Customer service. We always treat people the way that we would like to be treated when we venture our. Try and make everyone feel like they are welcome and like you've missed them. A little honey goes a long way.
I guess that there really isn't a training manual for everything. Set up rules and guidelines that your staff has to adhere to. Reward those that go beyond the common place and counsel those that don't.
