Hi,
I work for a local nightclub, and am looking for the manufacture of those dance platforms that light up when you dance on them. I have seen them before but I haven`t been able to find a company that sells them.
Hope one of you here can help.
Thanks,

I can't help but I was wondering how much control the lighting tech would have over the lights in the dance platform...

I don`t either, the ones I have seen are all audio triggered or pressure sensitive and are activated when people dance on them.
If I could find one that is dmx controlled, then all the light tech would have to do is plug it in and control it through lightjockey. Providing it had some sort of color changer in it, going through light jockey would make it more versitile.

A club in my town has one of the floors in question. I asked them where they got it and they said that they built it. They told the carpenters and the electricians what they wanted to do and they designed it and built it for them. It works great and it is both sound activated and manually switched. I don't know if it is DMX capable.
The only problem is that it is only about a year old and it needs the lexan floor replaced on it. They also had to have an internal cooling system installed to keep the lights and the lexan cool.
I was overseas a couple of years ago. I went to a club that had a polished stainless steel and copper dance floor. It looked cool when the lighting from above would shine on it. Just an idea.
