Well basically, I am 16 and from London. I am currently doing a college course in business and should be going to university in the next couple of years. My main ambition in life is to open a nightclub in a lively area, or even better, an new up and coming night life area. What I basically wanted to know was how to get into this? I have heard I would have to start off at the bottom and work my way up, but what exactly does this mean? Is the job idea as easy as it may seem? How much money roughly would be needed to start up? Could somebody please clue me in, it would be much appreciated, thanks.

Butt load + alot more.
I know this is vague but so is your question.
But the club I opened 13 months ago was in the neighborhood of $1,000,000.
7500 sq ft. started from scratch.
Start by breaking down all teh major costs:
rent/mortage pymts while you are in start up
insurance " "
utilites " "
stock (liquor, cleaning supplies, ofice supplies)
Liquor licensee, permits, legal & acounting fees
furniture, equipment, sound, lighting, signage, restrooms, HVAC,
training, pre parties, pre advertising, your salary, flooring, electrical up grades, office equipment, parking leases, deposits, ice machine, coolers, glass wares, registers,
