I live in athens, georgia so UGA is right here. However i really don't think i'll be able to make it thru a 4 year school as i absolutely hate school and always have. There are some schools nearby that offer Associate degrees in business mangaement as well as marketing management. One also offers 2-3 quater long certificate programs in entrepreneurship and small busines management. I have worked in restaurants for about 10 years in both the FOH and BOH and also have some bar experience and currently pursuing another bartending job. i want the academic knowledge to compliment the working knowledge i already have. ( i just don't want to have to take all the general education classes at a 4 year school) So I plan to bartend for the next 2-3 years while in school and would like to work my way up to management. i do not want a club like atmosphere, i'm looking to for more of a "pub/bar" atmosphere with pool, darts, foosball, live music, and maybe i'll do the food thing.

so basically with the associate degree along with the 2 certificate programs and the working experience how will this hold up to a 4 year degree? and i will NEED an investor as i don't have very good credit or the $$ do do it on my own.

sorry for the long post, but this is something i want to do and want to right and seriuosly. Iiand am already keeping a notebook with my ideas/things i want to do with the bar.

I appreciate as much input as possible. Thank you.

this is no longer an issue. after talking with other busniness owners i am for sure pursuing a bachelors degree in business management and marketing. The academic side will definetly help round out the 10 years of working experience i have in the service industry.
