question on bartending

My questions is do you need any experience in becoming a bartender or can just start off without having any knowledge of it, because I am pursueing my career in management amd marketing and i want to open up my own nightclub but i need to gain experience in that field and someone suggested that I become a bartender I just want to know if i need experience in that field to start off or do i take a class, if anyone has any information on it i will greatly appreciate it thanks

Get to know one. I always hired people I liked that had glowing / energetic personalities and then MADE bartenders out of them. This was for a high volume nightclub I ran for 10 years and I never once hired someone from a bartending school.

if you're not looking in the right places. Obviously, you're not going to go and apply at a hign-end lounge or restaurant.

If I were you, I'd go to the college bars/clubs and speak with management. From there, you can be trained.
