WANTED: Ideas for NYE Party

I'm doing a New Years Eve Party in the middle of summer, becasue everyone loves news years eve. I have booked a band for one ofthe two floors of my club, which will play new years eve party music and stuff, and they will do the count down at midnight.

On the other floor I have a confettii machine which will blow out confettii during the night. My DJ's will count down the midnight, then play all the songs you would ussually hear at midnight on new years eve. Thinking about letting off fireworks out side the club at midnight, and handing out party popers and decorating the club with baloons and streamers. The flyers will look like new years eve tickets.

I have spend a lot of money on bands and confettii machines and things, I was wondering does anyone know of anything else I can do on the night?

Since it is a New's Year party how about hanging some nets from the ceiling and filling them with balloons and inside some of the balloons putting slips of paper with prizes on them. You can probably buy some of those nets that kids use in their room for stuffed animals and get them cheap enough. For prizes you could give away drinks, or t-shirts, or maybe even a weekend hotel stay somewhere. You could drop the balloons at midnight, when you set the balloons up rig them so you only have to pull a string or something to make the nets fall and down come the balloons.Just an idea.

Perhaps you could target a few financial organisations as their special Financial NYE party!

I know, I know .. it's a long shot but you did ask .. an alternative may be a 'solstice' party. That happens twice a year.

A promotion I witnessed at a nightclub (outside Atlanta called Cowboys) was a ballon drop with money in selected ballons. Every Wednesday at Midhnight they do this ballon drop. People were flocking and knocking each other over to sit on and bust all the ballons in order to win some money. It was hysterical and everyone really appeared to enjoy themselves. Aside from money I bet you could get gift certificates from local biz's in your area. Good luck sounds like a fun concept!!

WOW what a great Idea, I'm having a confetti cannon on one of the levels in the club, I guess I could blow out vouchers and stuff from that!

The Baloon net from upstairs I could do the vouchers in there.

I like the contest idea, the champagne well, I'm expecting 1800 people in, so would be a hard excises to give everyone a glass.
