Hey how's it going everybody. I'm looking into to seriously starting a dive bar in south florida, but only to start out with a beer and wine (2cop license), because, I'm just out of college and have student loans to pay off as well, also a majority of the drinkers in the area drink beer and wine. Could someone please give me a close estimate how much a 2cop license will run me? I've been all over the internet and all I can find is that it is cheaper by far than a 4cop. So any information would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if the size of the place matters or not, but I'm planning on it being 1,500-2k sq feet and have a max occupancy of about 100-150. Thanks for any help and info.

You'd think nobody ever heard of a search engine sometimes...
Start here: http://www.myflorida.com/dbpr/abt/index.shtml
And here's the cost of darn near anything...

This has got to be the short cut from doing any work.. When I started out, an went to file a business lic. I told them what I was doing an asked them there all my questions. What better place to ask business questions. Then the place you apply for your lic... Gezzz.. its not hard to find out some of these answers to your questions. An why would you look on-line for a liq lic. go to your Local. ABC office an talk to the people who are going to be giving it to you. Because its more than just cutting a check....

You were just looking at the wrong places. It took me 2 minutes to look it up.

There are no quotas on licenses to sell beer and wine only in FL. Only if you sell Liquor.

Check the Florida liquor board FAQ here (http://www.state.fl.us/dbpr/abt/rules_statutes/abt_frequently_asked_questions.pd).

This (http://www.state.fl.us/dbpr/abt/rules_statutes/fee_chart.pdf) is also a link describing the fees depending upon your county size.

Looks like $392 annual is the max to me for a 2COP.

Steve
