Hello. I am looking to do some R&D to opening a nightclub. I am curious how song rights are handled in a club. When a DJ is hired for instance, who is liable for the rights to the songs that he or she plays or remixes?
Also since there are new songs coming out every week and a club is expected to keep up to date, do clubs have a special licensing procedure for these songs? How does this whole procedure work?
Some ballpark figures for these legal expenses would be greatly appreciated.
