Here is the plan-
Rent a bus from a company- their bus, their driver, their insurance, contracted for 6 hours a night, thurs fri and sat from Sept to May
***maybe they have an old bus and would let you hook it up with a stero, painted inside, ect..ect…
Provide transportation to 21+ college kids from campus 1-1.5 miles uptown to bar scene and under 21 year old students into town as well
The numbers:
Each person getting on the bus will pay 2$ round trip if going to one of the “listed bars” 2$ one way for a ride into town
Sell interioir space on the bus for advertisment space—credit card companies, bars, resturnats, shops, ect…
Sell listed stops to local bar owners via monthly contracts
OK thats should give a bit of an understanding as to what I want to do and how I plan to generate income...now my questions:
Can anyone else think of ideas/ways to use the bus to generate money?
for example, I could organize bar crawls and things along thouse lines-
I was hoping that brainstorming on this sight would help me develop more ideas-
all comments welcome!!

We have done this type of promo many times. At another club, they have people sign up for the Booze Bus. The people that get picked, pay $30 for the bus ride, booze and food while on the bus. They travel around to the local clubs and bars. They will spend 30 minutes in each place. They also get in free. At the end of the night, if they aren't too intoxicated, they return to the club to finish out the night.
Another great bus promo is this. You get a local radio station to broadcast live from your bus via a cell phone. They will park the bus in some out of the way location. The DJ will talk about your club during the breaks, he will also give out hints on your location. People will have to listen in order to find the bus. The remote lasts for three hours. The first hour is spent giving out clues and commercializing your business. After the first hour, there should be enough people at the buses location to fill the bus. Then, for the next two hours the full bus of legal age customers drives around the city stopping at prearranged stops. During this time, the DJ is talking about your club and it's promotions. He is also inviting people to the club to meet and great the people that found the bus. Make sure that you have enough t-shirts for everyone on the bus. This way when you make a stop, everyone knows what's going on and who you are.

Great idea!! One thing i was thinking because of the cold climate here is having a bus pick up at certain places like University campus, student gettos other bars etc. People don't want to walk in the cold here so pick them up and take them to your bar or bars you are associated with. Advertise it and have a regular bus route. Just an idea. Let me know what you think.

Of your taking 50 people on your bus to diffrent bars, say twice a week, then maybe you could get a kick back from the bars.

In my market, you (your club or you personally) couldn't operate a bus on a continuous basis with out the proper permitting. Some people have tried to do this but it has created problems within the transportation industry. The bus and taxi companies had them shut down. The reason was unfair competition.
If you only did this a few times a year, you would probably be fine. Check with you State and Local Department of Transportation.
Recently, there has been a guy that owns a limo company that stops by on the weekends. We treat his guests to free admittance and front of line privileges. He in return, gives our customers a free ride around the downtown area until his customers are ready to leave. His clients carry a small device that they activate that triggers his cell phone when they are ready. He will ask us to pick people from the club for the rides. We usually will have the DJ or one of the Door staff pick the riders. The ride will last for thirty to forty minutes. In all reality, it's a win-win situation for all of us. On the weekends, we have people ask if they can ride in the limo. I think that we will start a list at the front door so that we can track it more closely. The nice thing about him doing the driving is he covers all of the liability insurance.

I imagine a bus company might want to charge a lot for you to do that, with their insurance, their driver etc.
Drunk people would put the driver at risk, which would put the bus and the companies insurance at risk as well.
I'm sure they'd still be willing to discuss it though, it's a great idea ;)
BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!
O HAD THE BOOZE BUFFET STOP AT MY CLUB A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. THESE GUYS WERE ****ED UP SO MY DOOR GUYS ONLY LET IN ABOUT 1/2 OF THEM. THE 1/2 THAT GOT IN SHURE AS SHIT STARTED A FIGHT (OF COURSE ABOUT A GIRL) AND THE DOOR GUYS THREW THEM OUT. THE OTHER DRUNK IDIOTS THAT WEREN'T ALLOWED IN SPILLED AND OOZED OUT OF THE BUS TO COME TO THEIR COMRADES AID. ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE WITH MY DOOR GUYS OUTNUMBERED 35 TO 5.
A LOT OF CLUB OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, WILL NOT ALLOW A BUS WITHOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION AND A STRICT CONDUCT RULE. SHIT LIQUOR LAWS ARE HARD ENOUGH WITHOUT ASSUMING THE LIABILITY OF A ROLLING BOOZE BUFFET.
