I just wanted to let everyone know about a really great security product we have been using for many years.
The product is called Barlink (http://www.barlink.ca) and we have been using it for over 5 years. It has been everything we can ask for.
It can read every Province and State ID in a couple of seconds and provide pictures of each ID. You can search and pull up pictures for the hour, the evening, the week or the month. Everything is in realtime also, so when you create a ban on a patron that ban is available to all other bars using Barlink.
It really is great turning away patrons before they create problems in my club.
It has an integrated VIP and the ability to make notes on each individual patron profile. They also have a great marketing tool in place in which you can extract the data and import it into you spreadsheet.
They are very well priced and it is a very stable product. I believe they are the largest provider in Canada as they have clients from coast to coast and in the USA. We often scan in ID's from other Provinces and States and they are already in the universal database.
We also know of some friends that use the Barwatch (http://www.barwatch.ca) product. From our conversations it seems to be a very similar product in what it does. They have been using it for a few years now and they said they won't change.
