Hi Everyone,
Just to kind of fill you in on whats going on, I had been in the process on designing a club for the Chicagoland area. Due to a sudden loss in my family I have decided to withdraw my plans. I do realize I am taking a major financial loss, but this is something I just do not have the care nor motivation to follow through with anymore. All of my lighting and floor plans have been sold already, but i did manage to forget one thing. I have a great name that Im sure will bring great business to anyone in the beginning stages. Id like to see this place someday if anyone chooses to take me up on my offer, but I will only allow it to be used in any of our big cities. Please if you are interested, send me an email to djintheclub@yahoo.com. I do not plan on returning to this forum, so I encourage you to send me an email a.s.a.p. <|Graphic Design also included.|>

If your name is really good, and you spent the $$$ to make it a copyright and trademark for restaurants, bars and nightclubs, it is definitely an honest-to-God asset.

I ran afoul of this myself in a venture. I chose a name, did a DBA search, did the proper legal posting, jumped through the hoops, ran the place for a while...then got a letter and documentation that the name I used had been federally registered. Oops. I didn't do a federal trademark search.

I would say that name has worth, just like McDonalds, Hooters or Club Med does.

But I understand your point. I doubt "Billy Bob's Hoe Down Saloon" has been federally registered and worth a dime.

I'm just sayin'...;)

sorry to hear about your loss bro...thats a hard thing I know...and totally flip flops everything your doing.

--has there been any promotion whatsoever of the name publicly?

--if so, is it trademarked?
--(in your state only or nationally)

--do you own the LOGICAL ".com" for the domain name?

--was this name a part of the legal corporation?

--your statement about bringing business...is this based on documented market research? if not, how was the name created and what leads you to believe it will draw business?
