While the energy drinks have had their "hey day", most suppliers and distributors have been looking for that next big trend setter. You may have trouble believing it, but Canned oxygen is beginning to make a splash across the country. Those who say, "Why would I ever buy air in a can?" are much like those in the 80's that asked "Why would I ever buy water in a bottle?" Here's why oxygen is looking at a bright future!

Benefits of Oxygen

What are the benefits of oxygen?

Oxygen gives you life, and equally important, it’s what nature uses to clean the garbage out of you! If you’re full of garbage, you’re low on oxygen! If your inner oxygen levels are not restored to proper levels you will be unable to clean out your body, resulting in poor health. When you complain you don’t have any energy, it’s a result of a buildup of toxins and lack of oxygen in your cells. With frequent oxygen supplementation, your body will be able to cleanse itself creating a cleaner and more efficient form of energy.

How can oxygen help me?

Oxygen is critical for muscle function. The body produces a substance called ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) from food. It’s the energy currency of the body. We need to produce ATP constantly because we’re using it up all the time. The body can produce ATP in either an oxygen rich environment or an oxygen poor environment. If you properly oxygenate the body, it will supply aerobic ATP to the muscles, the good ATP, giving them strength and elasticity. A lack of oxygen (better known as hypoxia) causes the body to produce oxygen-deficient ATP, the bad ATP, and lactic acid. The lactic acid then reduces the efficiency of the muscles and can lead to pulls, cramps, and strains, etc.

How is oxygen different from an energy drink?

Caffeinated soft drinks or energy drinks really do the opposite than they are marketed to. Caffeine dehydrates the body and lowers the oxygen transport, which drains your energy and only makes you need more. Energy drinks also contain ingredients that trigger digestive juices, causing oxygen to be transferred to the digestive tract to enable digestion. This reduces the amount of oxygen available to the rest of the body, especially the brain and muscles. Other ingredients, such as sugars cause a short-lived energy burst. The ‘crash’, which occurs after the initial surge, can leave you with less energy than you had before.

Can Big Ox help my headaches?

The way in which oxygen inhalation reduces headache pain is unknown. Researchers have shown that there is an increased blood flow in the brain in both cluster and migraine headaches, although both headaches do not have the same degree of increased flow. It has been shown that oxygen causes a marked decrease in cerebral blood flow that is coincident with the reduced degree of pain in cluster headaches. (Source: National Headache Foundation)

Why do I need more Oxygen than I am breathing in right now?

Scientists have studied 80 million year old fossils that prove oxygen levels were once 30 percent higher than the 21% we breathe today. Your body was designed to run on that aforementioned high-level of fresh oxygen. The lack of oxygen in the atmosphere is why sickness and disease rates are higher today than they ever have been. Much of our current atmospheric oxygen is bound with both visible and invisible pollution. In highly populated areas most of us live in a controlled atmosphere (home or office) 22-23 hours a day. The oxygen content of the air in these sealed places quickly drops below 21 percent. Through pollution we’ve lowered the amount of fresh oxygen normally found in our outdoor environment. Oxygen supplementation is needed to help maintain good health and a clean body.

We have also been hearing the chatter about this. I have never had any of our clients ever bring the subject up until about 6 months ago... and we now get some questions/inquiries on a weekly basis for some reason. I still do not understand much about the concept, but.... looks like something worth learning about.
