What do customers want?

Large cover at the door and access to a large selection of complimentary, yet high quality appetizers? (Like a tapas bar)

OR

No cover and $$$ selection of quality appetizers?

I don't think anyone wants to pay a high cover, regardless of if there is free food or not. I think it will turn people off.

How about a cheap cover, and offer a selection of reasonable priced appetizers and some free nuts?

Nuts are expensive, try a pub mix. Salty with peanuts to throw or pretzels to make everybody thirsty. Find a game where patrons can be included to get them to drink together. Sales are what make the world go forward.
