View Full Version : Looking!!
Hello All!
New to the site and it seems to be informative...I'm part of a restaurant and nightlife collective that needs investors. We're chock full of concepts with a number of restaurant ideas as well as our own private label products that would be carried in each establishment. We're moving towards sustainability for each space and need investors to sit down seriously with and discuss. These are global ideas that can be introduced in any major metropolitian area. Would love to chat with serious inquiries only.

well for a quick glance on what is currently in existence go to www.vinylcincinnati.com this is one of the spaces, the other two websites are under construction - this one is half -way but almost done. At least you can see what the idea is and possibly?? pick up on the concept.
i'd love some feedback on what you see....

Nice initial web design interface, but of course it is currently limiting us from the whole thing and complete concept.

I meant no offense, but merely pointing out that we cannot really know the concept in which you are seeking investors to part with their money. The interface design is a nice web presence start is all I am saying. That was a compliment in case you missed it:) I am not currently soliciting for investors by refering them to any website. If I did, I would offer more details or at least some general backround on the potential investment. You wanted feedback. Mine, as well as others, is to share more with us if you expect to have any serious takers.
I wish you luck and hope you get your dream,
Mike

When shopping for investors, Information is your greatest weapon..You would be wise to prepare a business plan that you could then use to present to potential investors for your dream....
This initail plan doesnt need to be a numbers based presentaion but a visual introduction with the basic ideas and parameters of the project.
Introduction=Short general outline of the business ideal-Team Bios-Executive summary
Design and Layout=If possible Design Ideals, Pic's, Renderings
Revenue Centers=Liquor & Beer, Food, Wine, Gaming, Private Parties.
Entertainment & Promotions=Blurb on what your plan is and how you plan to entertain and attract patrons.
Perspectus= Estimated construction and financing cost,Investor return ratio, Investment points basis cost,
I have some outlinns, If you would like one I would be happy to provide one for you.

Just for the heck of it, I googled the address of Vinyl and got alot more info including: http://local.yahoo.com/details?id=36672191 and http://community.livejournal.com/vinylcincinnati/ I thought this was just a concept and now know it is an existing place and you and your partners have some potential. This is alot more than what you disclosed to us so far. I suggest a reference to these reviews of Vinyl besides the business plans of the future venues in which you are seeking investors. The fact that you have an initially successful venue up and running gives you far more a chance of getting investors now. It's sort of like going for a loan with collateral and past loans and seperating yourself as being a complete newbie.

PS: who is your web designer?
for excellentbars - there is an existing space and business plans so on and so forth - thanks for the info though...
mike - thank you for digging. When I got on this site I wasn't sure how much info. to disclose. I have more than one concept and I would just feel better to sit down with someone and present everything. I understand that perhaps I can at least direct some people to more...like the fact that we got a 4 star rating for the food and we got best new business of the year for 07 as well as best ****tails in the city by Cincinnati Magazine. We've has amazing press and it keeps getting better, so thanks for that. I have had a bite and am waiting for my letter of confidentiality back so we can proceed...I'm really very anxious to move forward! :)
I guess I should let my guard down a bit and sumbit some more concerning the current space...

I understand completely as I would not disclose any concept in detail until the prospects were qualified and a confidentiality agreement signed. However, no idea is 100% protected. If you lead people to respond, you should try to cover at least the basics w/o disclosing anything that would really give you a market edge. Since Vinyl is already out there, I would work from this and disclose those details to attract those possible investors.
I am trying to add to my list of good web site designers- do you want to share who you used? No I don't have any plans for the Cinci market:)
Thanks,
Mike
That's fine I'll get the web designer infor for you ...I just forgot...i'll get bk with u shortly...

BBG- I was in Cinci this past Tuesday on business. Too bad Tuesday is a slow day as Vinyl and others were closed including the Ocho Rios to your south. I also forgot about that city having the old brick alleys and old street lights as I cut through the narrow alleys with alot of broken glass between the bricks. Nice Graphics again on the sign that is like a bright beacon in that neighborhood. I see businesses such as yours trying to improve and help the downtown. However, it looks like there is a real struggle going on and many pockets are going bad. How is that immediate area around you? It seems if you go just a little farther from the center hotel area and the stadiums/river it starts to dissinegrate quickly. You say you are trying to get out of Cinci; what other Cities were you considering?
It was great of you to stop by! It is an unfortunate thing that has happened in Cincy. The area that we're in is in a resurgence. Main St. is having a burst here in the next few months with more places opening up including something that we're involved in - it's just up the street from Vinyl on Main, and there's another place...don't know if you were on 12th street but we have a place called Jardin. It's a wine and tapas bar with outdoor venue. The Midpoint Music Festival was just here this past weekend and Jardin as well as Vinyl hosted bands and parties. It was a good time. Vinyl is one of the pioneers trying to change the face of Over-the-Rhine (that's what the area is called.) It just so happens I think we're in the wrong neighborhood. Our customers are used to "different" surroundings but at the same time, enjoy coming to Vinyl. One of the problems is that Cincinnati is a town for drivers. A lot of people would like to walk to and from without major issues at the end of the evening. I'm looking to go west. Actually I would love to put Vinyl in a number of cities across the United States - LA, NYC, Miami, Chicago....I don't want to saturate the mkt., but make it a destination if there are visitors as well as keep it fresh for the locals. I've got plenty of ideas for the food and nights of the week dedicated to certain themes. We've done well, but we're too big for Cincinnati. Don't get me wrong, it's a great town but change doesn't come too easily here and when it does...well lets just say there's a bit of a syntax error.... :) Where are you located? Do you think a Vinyl would do well???
