Has anyone every seen or heard of a product like this?

The deposits we take cover our costs on the glass ones but we can't keep them in stock as fast as they are breaking?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Looking more for plastic/polycarbonate/acrylic German-style beer boots.

I've only been able to find the western style plastic boot.

But thanks for looking!

They had some very small ones at a club in New Orleans. I will try to find out where they get them next time I am down there. They were plastic, but I think they were only 20oz.

I tried to send an email to that address, but it immediately bounced. Any other ideas?

Does anyone have success with using plastic for mixed drinks and shots? We hand wash our beer mugs and glasses, have already had one workers comp on cut finger,am just now adding liquor in the bar, is it appropriate to use a good quality plastic? Our customers have resisted the plastic mugs so we are using glass and plastic, breakage and theft are a problem, time involved in washing etc.

We just received some really good quality 1.5 oz plastic washable shot glasses. Inexpensive too. They look and other than the weight, feel like glass. I'll try to find out where my wife ordered them. I pretty sure it was from KESCO (Kitchen Equipment & Supply Company of Florida) (http://www.kescoflorida.com/)

Not a real good shopping website. Call them.

Beer Mugs: Sticking with glass. They frost real nice. Will use plastic for private functions.

Now sometimes when we get real busy, the plastic cups come out for mixed drinks. Don't know why, but it appears that too many people like to take my glasses outside when they leave (mostly they probably take them all the way home!). Pretty rare to be so busy that we can't keep an eye out for the glasses with feet.

Bartenders break more glass than customers when they wash them. Another mystery to me.

Never been a big plastic guy. Beer and liquor always taste better out of a glass, but especially beer. I can't tell you, why but beer in plastic just turns me off. I know you weren't asking for opinions but you got it anyway :P

Have you found your boots yet?

I'm sure that the poster isn't asking for opinions on glass or plastic. He/she probably needs the information in order to complete his quest for his club.

This one asked. Most likely should have start another thread. Can you split the tread?

Nope. Thanks for asking. Sent two emails to universalcontainer.com, but no replies yet. I'm starting to doubt if anyone has a prefab product in production. It's probably something I'll have to get fabricated.

This would be a great niche market for someone. I know a glass boot is preferable to drink out of but I also know that many German style bars have a hard time keeping them in stock.

If you do find someone who can make these, I'd be happy to help you out with the "niche market" by purchasing a dozen or so. I found this thread in my own attempt to put together a Beerfest-themed Halloween party. I wanted to hand out a bunch of these to the guests, but the $70+ per glass boot seemed a bit excessive (not to mention my desire to not have to clean up broken glass + 2 liters of beer every time someone drunkenly drops one). Now all my buddies think the idea is too good to pass up just because Halloween is coming up too fast -- probably gonna have a Beerfest party whenever we can get enough beer boots.

I found someone who said he thought his company could fabricate them, but he was hoping for a more substantial number, I think (more like what you're talking about).

Here's the contact information for that company: http://www.customacrylic.com/StoreFront.bok

I would also gladly help out by buying a dozen or so, as I also came across the thread in my attempts to find plastic beer boots.

The only help that I can give to the original poster is that I know the Essen Haus in Madison, WI uses 2L plastic beer boots. They seemed very sturdy and a nice quality. Maybe if you contact them then they could let you know where they get them.
Good luck!

Depending on the price I might be interested in a lot of them..... Just depends on the quality and price point.

My Company, Bier Boot Haus, specializes in glass beer boots and I am looking to expand to plastic beer boots. I think I may have found a Chinese source that can make a mold and create plastic beer boots. What size do you think would be most popular in plastic? In glass it is by far the 2 liter boots, but am wondering if a 1 liter would be more popular in plastic. I think I would keep the shape of the 2 liter... check out the 2 liter on my website if you cannot picture the difference.

Let me know what you think....

Also, would you buy them blank or only with a custom logo on the front?

thanks

Brendan

I have worked with the Essen Haus in the past and they have always carried glass beer boots, not plastic.

I have worked with the Essen Haus in the past and they have always carried glass beer boots, not plastic.

I was up there over the summer and the boot I drank out of was definitely plastic. I was told that they were testing them out to see if feedback is still as good as the glass. They were still selling the glass boots only, but in the restaurant they had plastic ones going around. They may have gone back to glass already, I don't know, but it was plastic when I was there.

As far as size on the boots; I would assume that if 2 liters are more popular in glass, they still would be more popular in plastic. Then again, I'm biased because I prefer the 2 liter ones. However, I could see that restaurants might buy more of the 1 liter than 2 liter variety simply because they would need more of them.

About a logo; I would buy them either way, but would prefer a custom logo.

Hey guys, been a while since i posted. Love this topic btw, DAS BOOOT!!!

Well it seems as though we have found some options on sources for the boot, how about discussing pricing?

How much do/would you charge on a 2L boot and a 1L boot? What kind of beer would you use and how would it dictate prices? Glass or plastic and be specific...

And im sure if they had a custom logo, they would would probably sell really well. How much would you charge to buy or keep the glass? Curious about the boot,..
