I'm starting a non-alcoholic dance and social club in Everett Washington 30 miles N of Seattle. I have a modest budget and will be leasing the space as well as some of the equipment such as Billiard tables, latte machines, soda and condiments machine. oxygen machine. It will havean array of beverages and some pre-made food, deserts. The theme will be to have good energizing music that folks will always want to dance to probally old-school with some up-to date sounds, there will be poetry nights, book reading nights, magic, and a miscellaneous night throughout the week with dancing to DJ or CD or Live bands on the weekend.I'm writing a business plan and will be looking for investors to help fund the start-up, Not sure if I will go non-profit ot for profit. One other thing this establishment will have rooms for AA Alanon meetings and maybe other self help rooms. I've seen it done before very sucessfully and I would like to give it a shot. I have a business background and will have some assistance of other people with like minds. I would appreciate any feedback from folks who can contribute ideas, suggestions or comments. Much Thanks,
CJ II

i suggest getting some strong population numbers

(you will need more capacity because of lack of liquor sales

sure markup on pop is higher than that of liquor...HOWEVER people don't order soda after soda...how many patrons will average 6-8 drinks per night...not many

so make sure

1) you have enough PEOPLE in your town
2) do market research to make sure you have enough INTERESTED people in your town
3) find as many alternative profit centers as possible

I would check into getting an operator for the game equipment. They generally split the profit 50/50. This way you don't get into some high priced lease for 5 years and they can keep switching out equip with new stuff every so often at no charge. Plus they fix it when its broken right away.

Sounds good ! Maybe consider a MADDEN Contest or Halo 3 with a grand prize of $1000.00 --would attract the young crowd..Best wishes on your venture..
