First Day on a New Gig

Greetings to all-
tomorrow is my first day as Bar Mgr. for an entertainment center in So Cal. It is 2 nightclubs, a sports bar, and a live music venue (realitively small...few hundred people in the live area.) 4 different bars total. It also is an upscale bowling alley (whoever heard of such a thing?) that features 2 private rooms for VIP parties complete with 2 lanes in the private room...pretty cool actually. Definitly unique. As well as a Dave and Busters type of arcade, and banquet areas. I'm very excited about the gig but know it's going to be a lot of work.
The first problem I'm faced with is the fact that the place has only been open 5 months and the place is short 3600 bottles of beer already! No kiddin' - about $14k in profit gone already.
We'll if it was easy, everyone would be doing it I guess...

I'll be here posting quite a bit about my mis-adventures, but to start with - I wanted to get an idea from you out there about what a fair bonus amount or percentage of gross on top of my base salary might be for finalizing my salary negotiations later this evening...my base is at $48k

you better fire everyone who touched the beer before you took over. yes they probally didnt all steal but i will garentee that they all knew about it !

You should check on the bartenders! they might be giving a litto to much beer/liqour they are soposto :eek:

First matter of business...look in the parking lot and see who is driving the new BMW....I would keep and eye on that person!.HmmMMMM

This sounds like a leaky bar....I have heard of these they are very similar to the Bermuda Triangle! things just disappear....Wierd!

Your referring to theft.... Well let me tell you this, you just started correct?

Well now is your chance to change this and make 14k profit! Look at the way they run the place. Does any of the employees know that your the new bar manager? if they don't go into the place and sit down and see how things are being ran. Who's in charge of getting the bottles from the fridge etc... keep those eyes open. You as the boss has to know everyones move before they take that move. Be 2 steps ahead of them, if your not guess what they will walk all over you like no tomorrow.

Head up and see things. does the venue have cameras place @ fridge/cash/etc

Its your turn to make the place money and show the owners that your the right person for that position and that you solved their leak and were able to fix it.
