I am a resident in PA ,but i attend college in WV. what can i do to eliminate this problem? I do have the money in hand ,but i am told i can have a relative in my family to sign for the liquor license. only problem i have is i have no relatives in WV. I also read i can form my own corporation in order to open my own bar. If i have a good friend here in WV can i have him sign for the license? Any input would be great.
Thanks

I would say BAD red flag, here. NEVER trust anyone with the most important part of your bar - the license.

if your going to open a bar there why not become a resident ? that will take you all of 10 miniutes at the registry. silly rabbit

I think you have to be a resident (full time) for 2 years before you can qualify. You should form a corporation anyway and then the corporation holds the license, but I think the bar manager has to be a resident for at least 2 years. So, as long as you have a resident bar manager, I think you can retain your license. Why don't you just call up the licensing agency and ask them? I am sure they will help you.

Are you saying calling the licensing agency is bad advice?

You will want to incorporate. Then hire an attorney familiar with the laws of ABC in your area and have the attorney act as the agent for the corporation
on the liquor license. I have done this in several states and it worked well.
