I have an idea for a bar product that I would like to produce and sell. Is there anyone who can give me an idea on where to look for a plastics manufacturer that can do "beta testing"? I have the product idea, but am not 100% sure how to best accomplish what I want to do, so I'd like to try an idea, have a company create a prototype, then send it to me for testing and eval, then send them a report telling them what to change.
Any ideas?

Why don't you just google it like "plastic manufacturer prototypes" and a large list of companies who can do this will come up. I am sure it will be pricey as the original prototypes, molds, and manufacturing set up are the greatest start up costs beyond marketing. The more you produce after that, the more the price goes down.
Good luck!

I did try googling it, got a few numbers and talked to a few people, but didn't get really far. If I finally get things rolling, I'll let you all know about my idea.
I was searching some patents and don't see anything like what I want to do.
I am kind of excited about my product.

RKERDZA,
We are, or better stated, our 'other business' is a Plastic Manufacturing Company. Shotski's Bar Supplies is a completely seperate company, however most all of our products come from our Manufacturing company. That is how we are usually able to beat the pants off of most companies in our industry that do what we do.
Our plastic Manufacturing Company is located overseas & we have an actual design enginere on staff there to assist with all new product designs and the making of the mold (prototype). So there is a good chance that we might be able to help you with your project, or at least get you some ideas, info or leads of other factories that could help.
A couple things to keep in mind:
- First & foremost is to understand that you need to protect your idea from start to finish. IF you have a 'winner', then understand that most people will try to steal it or screw you in some way. Before presenting your IDEA to ANYONE, make sure and get a confidentiality agreement drafted up & also a non-compete form. Anyone who has an issue signing off on anything like that is not someone you would want to 'risk it' with anyway. SO DO YOUR LEGAL HOMEWORK MY FRIEND.
Once you get all your ideas protected, then the fun begins.
I'll continue this in a little bit.....

Thanks for the heads up. I know I'd probably have to apply for patents and all that legal mumbo-jumbo. I'm definitely interested to hear what you have to say.
