So I've been thinking about this for a few years now, and now I'm starting to get serious about it. I live in York, PA. A smallish town, that is rapidly growing, and I figure if I'm going to make this dream reality, I better get started now.

My main question right now, is Location? There is a strip of nightclubs in the center of the city, that are jumping everyone weekend, I believe they are all owned by the same guy. Now I don't want to put this club near his clubs, too much competition, So What is a prime location for a nightclub that isn't in the center of the city?

If you open up a nightclub that is different from the other club's concepts, you should be fine. But if you stick with a similar concept from one of the clubs, then that's when i'd be worried about the competition, unless you have the capital to go all out to put most of them out of business. Think about a totally different concept. If not, search for a growing area in your town in need of such a nightclub. Id search in high traffic areas, and main intersections.

why don't you wanna be next to your competition ? do you think it is better to be by yourself ? i would rather have my competition next door. i know that if i can get them in my front door then i own them ! my bars are on streets that have lots of other bars and clubs on them, yes what i do is very different than what they do so yes i do offer a different experience but if your all by yourself them you are a destination and people like to bar hop. that's just my opinion.

Ministry I loved hearing your opinion on this, we have put an offer in on a bar/ club that has a tavern right next door, all though they started selling hard liqour it is a dive, they have pool tables and dart boards, we plan to have a night club with a dj, dance cages and a Pole, open mic night, Karakoe, and guitar hero contests, things that most people leave our community to enjoy, so I am hoping we are moving in the right direction.

There is nothing wrong with diversity. Just my two cents..
