I am new here and i have heard talk of after hour clubs. Here all bars must stop seving alcohol at 3am. How do these after hours clubs work? Is it different from place to place? It may seem like i stupid question but i am interested in how this works. If any one who can shead some light on the subject it would be greatly appreciated!!

Colin first off welcome to the site... Second there are no stupid questions. I am new to the concept myself and cannot offer ALL the answers, but here in Atlanta we are one of those very clubs and we can serve you a beer @ 6am on Sun if you like. There are a FEW select clubs in the city with this "special" license and I know it to be very coveted. How they got them and when is still a question of mine. In DC we had to close by 2am and 3am on the weekends. Then I worked in VA were no matter the night 2am you were done! The “Bible Belt" seems to affect some of these rules, but there are always exceptions. I am sure David can shed some light on how the licenses are obtained and maybe where they are legal?

Here in Boston everything shuts down at 2am. That's the way it's always been as long as i can remember ("Grandfather Law") any way, recently a couple of clubs have begun opening up at 3-3.30 am after closing for 90 min.

Might want to talk to those people, The Palace and Tantra in Saugus, MA.

Would you call After-hours clubs, Dayclubs?

Are they open all day, as well (clientelle permitting)?

Our State Liquor Laws require all liquor sellers to close at 2 am. We do have one club that reopens at 2:15 am until 4 am. They kick everyone out at two, put covers on the liquor and reopen at 2:15. They allow 18 and over at this time. They serve water, pop, energy drinks (that's what I like, a drunk that's wide awake), juices and breakfast. It seems to work for them. Our staff has visited the club after we get ours shutdown. They let all of the industry people in for free. The normal cover after two is $5.
