In Sydney, the music I like to hear comes from DJ's that play to a gay/mixed crowd ('Handbag House', Deep-Funky House, Progressive House and Hard House)

I was watching the R&B awards on TV and it was interesting to see how far Hip Hop has come, commercially. Yet Hip Hop is not common here, especially in the mainstream clubs.

If you are a DJ or employ DJ's, What style of music do you prefer and what styles of music does your club provide?

It would be nice to know what music the rest of clubland prefers.

Our music format changes weekly. One weekend we might have DJ's and the next weekend, live music. We have different types of live and DJ generated music throughout the week.

We play Hip-Hop, Blues, Jazz, Rock and Roll and everything in between. No Country.

By changing our music genre, we rotate our clientele. I also think that it helps us keep our edge. We do a little radio and print advertising but normally people stop in to see what's happening. Once we get them in the club, the employees do a great job of keeping them there.
