I am trying to find out more info in the state of oklahoma on what the law is for a membership club or private club, not sure what avenue to take on getting a license. I am wanting to find a loop hole so i can serve beer/wine/liquor after 2 am to 5 am. We will not be selling the alcohol. We are taking donations at the front for entering the club. Any ideas please let me know.

With a private club (MEMBERS ONLY), that is very possible. I would suggest calling your state abc official and finding out all the details first. Afterhours in OKC is a great idea considering that there is not alot to do there after 2am besides going to the casino. OKC is a fun midwest city though. I wish you all the best.

why not check other afterhours clubs for ideas. I know one who let patrons bring in alcohol and charged a storage fee. One let us bring coolers.

My partners and I are working on a similiar set-up where we will have an after hours and go go dancers. We will serve food and liquor. There will be NO entry charge and the liquor will be free. Our club will be members only and there will be a monthly membership fee. The membership fee covers the price of the alcohol.

The ABC does not govern the issuance re: Members Club requirements but they do govern the compliance actions if alcohol is being provided.

In almost all states the provision regarding members clubs that have a membership fee associated have some compliance requirements, these may differ state to state.

(1) The purpose of the members club cannot be solely for the provision of alcohol in avoidance of local, state or federal alcohol restrictions. The provision of alocohol or other events where alocohol is available perhaps after hours or similar must be a value add to the membership. Many members only clubs have embraced this restriction by provision of concierge services of which one value add happens to be these late night after hours alcohol service events.

(2) Purchase of membership at the door cannot be solely for entrance into the alcohol specific event but instead must be for complete membership (i.e. No one day passes) A common avoidance of this policy has been the allowance of X number of "temporary memberships" for which a fee is charged and allow you to evaluate whether further membership is something you are interested in.

These are the big two that create problems as you cannot just charge at the door and call it a membership fee and the only event you host cannot be after hours alcohol events!!

A concept we provided assistance in and is probably what you are seeking but perhaps not on the same service level can be found below, the renting of large houses and NON LICENSED establishments for the provision of alcohol among other services:

Good Luck.

I am thinking that this will be a very difficult endeavor for you. The local officials will probably stop at nothing to deny you your occupancy permit or anything else they can think of to stop you from doing this. I am all for sticking it to the man, but you might be biting off a lot more than you can chew.

So with this being said...would you still need to have a liquor license...if "technically" your not selling alcohol? And if your not selling alcohol that means you can buy the liquor from Anywhere cheap!
