SEEKING A DJ, PROMOTIONS, and/or MARKETING POSITION

My name is Christopher Lyons (a/k/a "SUPER D.J." big poppa) and I am available to relocate anywhere in the United States and Europe!
For the past 17 years, since 1990, I have served as Promotions & Marketing Director, and as Senior Music Programmer, including training and hiring of DJ's, and teaching "dynamics" to each venue's staff, along with the creation, marketing, advertising (radio/TV/print media/in-house), budgeting, detailed planning, and overall implementation of nightly "themes" and promotions. This also included both happy hour and late-night at several nightclubs, hotel venues and lounges, as well as booking National, Regional, and local acts to headline various concerts and special events. I also assisted in management in other areas of daily operations.
Since October 1997, I have also worked as DJ/MC/KJ/Party Motivator and Booking Agent for several corporate, college, school, and private functions in North Florida for Disc-Jockeys-To-Go, a highly reputable Mobile DJ Service company in Jacksonville, Florida.
With World Wide Entertainment, I served as Sr. Music Programmer and in charge of promotions & marketing for over 31 properties in 27 cities nationwide. I created and implemented nightly happy hour and late night calendar and events for Adam’s Mark, Marriott, Doubletree, Red Lion, Holiday Inn, and several free-standing venues owned or managed by these hotel and resort conglomerates.
For over ten years, I was Music Programmer and Activities Coordinator for the largest cruise ship fleet with Norwegian Cruise Lines out of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale , Los Angeles , San Diego , and San Juan , Puerto Rico . With my “promotions & marketing” experience, I implemented several “themed” nights, including 50’s Sock Hop, Country & Western Night, “Groove-a-licious” ‘70’s Night, Latin Night, and Teen Nights due to my extensive music format knowledge in all these genres. In my ten years, the nightclub venues onboard experienced some of the highest revenues due to these nights catering to the passengers’ interests onboard nightly.
From freestanding to corporate establishments, from hundreds to thousands of clientele nightly, my expertise and the carrying out of ideas created were a success in not only numbers, but in overall profits, as well.
I would also be interested in providing DJ services and/or “themed nights” on select evening(s), hosting of various contests and events, along with assisting and implementation of promotions.
I am able to handle any size venue, both indoor and outdoor, if needed. My music library consists of over 10,000 songs covering all music formats. I am personable, entertaining, and more than aptly skilled, not only in music knowledge and beat mixing, but also microphone presence.
As Disc Jockey and Promotions Consultant, I was responsible for ALL music, video and satellite programming, promotions, TV/Radio spot copy and production, talent booking, and hosting of club activities. I also purchased and provided for existing music and video formats (TOP 40, HIP-HOP, R&B, LATIN, HOUSE/BREAKBEATS, DISCO/70’S, RETRO/80’s, ALTERNATIVE, CLASSIC ROCK, OLDIES, COUNTRY, and ADULT CONTEMPORARY).
During my 20-plus years of professional experience with TV/Radio, Cruise Ships, Hotels, and Resorts, I have gained a broad knowledge, encompassing not only all music types, but also a variety of nightclub and entertainment environments - including the ability to “beat mix” for a dance format. I also incorporated the use of “props”, lip-synchs, and “showcases” to help create more of a “party” atmosphere at select venues. While employed as Resident DJ, Special Guest DJ, and/or Promoter, some of the highlights for each venue were as follows:
● an increase of up to 87% in clientele
● a gain of over $23,000 in liquor sales weekly
● the ability to create “themed” nights due to my varied music format knowledge, which caters to a diverse crowd on a nightly and/or weekly basis
● Club Soda and “I Scream Sundays” Teen Nights garnered over 1800 High School students on Sundays during the summer and prior to Monday holidays
