Hi Everyone!
We're taking over a nightclub in Costa Rica on Saturday and one of the first things I want to do is reinforce the subs. To give you an idea, here are my choices in equipment:
Cerwin Vega Afterburner AB36B $971ea
B-52 18" Active ACT18XV2 $1089ea
B-52 18" Passive ACT18XSV2 $626ea
QSC HPR151 15" Active 700W $1242ea
There are two separate rooms, one is about 1200 sq feet, and the other is 800 sq feet. The large one right now is running the dual 18" by Wharfdale Pro, and a crap-sounding Peavey folded horn which I don't want. The small room has two separate 18" single boxes that are no-name which I want to change or reinforce.
In the big club that technically only ends up with the dual box, there will be a free QSC RMX 1450. In the second club, if I remove the two no-name boxes, there will be another free RMX 1450. The RMX1450 will push up to 800W @8Ohms bridged mono.
Given that info, what all would you guys/gals recommend? I have the two amps already, which I understand are underpowered... I was thinking of getting four of the B-52 passive subs, two to run off each of the RMX1450 amps bridged in each room. Would this be the best buy? I'm looking for sound quality. THe tops are 8 Wharfdale Pro Titan 15's in the main room and 4 in the other.
The sooner I can decide the better :)
