Is it possible to run a tavern with out a walk in? What would alternatives be. There is a nice stand up cooler and a chiller that holds I believe 30 cases. Perhaps another one of thous and a two or three keg cooler may work?

Just wondering?

We are still waiting to hear from the state of Maine the results of out appeal for liquor licence. We went in front of them OCT 20. I was informed by them we should know with in two or three weeks. I called the Tue before turkey day and was informed the letter has been written but not signed. I figured after the holiday they would sing it and put it in the mail. I called last Friday and it is still up there? I was informed I will know when the certified letter shows up? What could be taking so long?

I dont know many small neighborhood bars that have a walk in. I think it would depend on how much business you going to have. I have one bar with no walk in and one with and neither serve draft. The bar that has the walk in only closes 3 hours a nite so its handy in that there isnt much time for stocked beer to get cold. The other bar closes 10 hours so its plenty of time to chill beer. Yes we have had to ice beer down but only on exetremely busy nights. We dont really need or have the space at the little bar for a walk in. Actually when I got there they had an old stand up cooler in the stockroom that they used to chill beer but it quit so I threw it out.
