Hi guys,
I'm a new member here and have a question about a possible nightclub internship. My parents have owned several bars and nightclubs since i was just a toddler in upstate NY. I've worked in these establishments at various positions (janitor, barback, bartender) and have seen both the pluses and negatives of the business. I'm currently 20 years old and a junior in college. I'm wondering if anyone would think getting in internship in the food/beverage industry would be beneficial to get more insight into the management side of the business? My only concern is that I worry if such an internship would be pointless. I've already researched a bit and many of the nightclub internships stress computer skills which is why i wonder if they just make you sit behind a desk all day and answer emails, website management, etc. Also, do you have any suggestions for specific internship locations? I would greatly appreciate some feedback.
