Hi everyone. I am from Canada and this is my first post. I am looking forward to New Years eve. The weather is not good here - 31 but I am ready .
I have a question for those who check ID's at the door. If I go to the USA and drink and I am asked for ID and I show the person working at the door my drivers licence can they refuse it because it is from Canada. It is still valid.

Yes they can, actually, you can be refused entry to ANY business, for ANY reason in the US, even if the business owner doesnt like the color of your hair.
Welcome to the board, im new myself :0)

It is still a valid ID as long as the CANADIAN identification/driver's license is valid and not expired. And is not incredibly damaged.

I know some places in the united states that will no accept Canadian Drivers Licenses. You must use your passport which sucks if you lose it you'll be stuck in the USA for sometime :p Many places will accept a drives license as proper id

Id assume with backup you will be OK but not guaranteed. Id also assume states near canadian border will be much more familiar with canda id's and you prob wont have a problem (unless they hate canadians that is haha). If you wanna come down to Boston Ill let you drink..

I don't own a bar, but I would guess some places won't accept out of country ID's for risk of being fake? I may be wrong, but that's just a guess. They may not be familiar with them and rather than risk it, just turn you away...
