Saturday afternoon my partner went to an auction to pick up some stuff for the club/bar we are opening. NOTE: We are JUST starting the prosess

He calls me up around 2:00 all excited:

HIM: "Hey, I just made the first bar purchase"
ME: "Sweet! What did you get"
HIM: "WET FLOOR SIGNS!!!!"
ME: "Do we even have mops?"
HIM: "No, but they are only $1.00"

I guess you had to be there...I thought it was funny.

This should be an interesting thread! I am learning there is a lot to opening a club! There was a place in Portland, Me they had everything ready for the grand opening. Everyone showed up guess what, No booze. They did not get their liquor license in time for the opening.

Check the local (200 mile radius) auction and IRS auction sites. You can find some great deals there.

GS, when your buying an ice machine, especially a used one be real careful to check it out first...like how dirty it is overall, good sign how well it was maintained, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE "CUBE GRID" AND MAKE SURE THE ZINC (or whatever metal it is) IS ALL INTACT AND HAS NOT BEEN FLAKING OFF. To fix that one item you're better off buying a new one...and yes new are expensive but with proper maintainance they will last a very, very long time. and when you buy, ALWAYS buy the next size bigger than you think you need. It's always easier to have too much ice than not enough and run out.
Have a great weekend,
Rick

My opinion,

Always buy the most efficient new ice machines, air conditioners, cheap upfront means a whole lot more money monthly in electric bills, NEVER buy used, false economy in my opinion, here in California the repair bills are outrageous plus having a machine down,

Allan.
