I am evaluating a few options for the actual bar in a new venue.
Just wondering if anyone has feedback on finding an old bar and trying to bring it in to the new place, vs. custom build.
I would like to have a solid, functional bar that seats around 20, with some more elaborate craftsmanship on the bar top (the part that customers see.)
thanks for any help.

The price could vary a great deal depending on the materials used and the time spent building it. I could see spending 2k-10k on the bar top alone if you wanted something intricate with unique materials.
Best thing is to look around at other bars, search as much as possible and find something you like. You also need to have some kind of budget. I custom built my new bar after getting some ideas on the internet and mixing it with some ideas of my own. I think the entire cost of my bar was around 3k for the entire thing (frame, face, top, materials and labor). I could have easily spent another 2k or more on the top just by using slightly different materials and adding a few things but I was trying to stay on budget and the extra materials and frills wouldn't have added much more to the overall look or the function. Maybe I will post a pic of it if I remember to bring my camera to work.

I would love to see a picture of it, Intensity.
