Unfortunately, both clubs are closed now, but good to see how to self-promote your place.Crowbar is still in Chicago and Buenos Aires.

We had a guy that tought it would be funny to call his bar Crowbar. The Native American's in the area didn't think that it was funny. The Crow Indian Reservation is located in the same area as the bar. HE didn't last long.

They were first sued in Chicago, because there was a small run down bar called crowbar already on the south side I think. They had to change it to Crowbar The Nightclub officially.

Obviously it's a take on the pry bars and not the Crow. Part of my ancestry is Native American. I would think they would have more of a problem with many sports teams names, mascots, and logos mocking "Indians" which to many Native Americans is a derogatory term originated by Columbus who thought he was in India when he first came to a Caribbean island. How do people from India feel about this? Confused? Many also do not like the politically correct "Native American". Personally,I think we're all Americans or just people on this planet and there seems to be a need to classify and categorize everyone and everything and be politically correct. This just divides everyone and causes further tensions in my opinion. We're all just specs of dust in the middle of nowhere. The whole thing between people and races and nationalities is ludicrous because of everyone's ignorance and closed minds throughout history resulting in everyone attacking and killing each other. Anyone born on American soil could be called Native American, likewise, a white person born in South Africa like Charlize Theron could be called an African American. In fact, she's more African American than blacks born here who are Native Americans! And are most whites here European American even though many pilgrims were criminals and the unwanted? I digress, don't get me started! Here's a decent article on the subject if you are interested:

Wow. MIke has a button. No disrespect intended. I do agree that we are all Native Americans per se. I was just making a point that when you name you business, you might thnk that it's funny or whatever while others might be offended.

If you can't offend or don't offend, you have nothing. There is always someone on the other side.

In our opinion, Kirk's guitar tone defines what a Heavy Metal guitar should sound like!
