Dear All,
I appreciate reading everyones posts and replys. Very preofessional questions and answers. I see a trend of some real veterans helping out with advice in a selfless way. My question has to deal with peoples experiences, usefullness, and creativity in creating a customer information database for a nighclub/music venue I was recently employed at. We only have an email list at the current time that we use to email upcoming event schedules but I would like to gather more info about our customers likes/dislikes/spending habits. What information do you feel is important to generating this database. What are some creative ideas I can use to generate this info? We recently made business card sized free passes that I noticed surpassed our paid attendance in for two weeks after they were handed out. I want to not only use these to determine who is successfull in getting these to people that will use them but also as an incentive for customers to allow us to access some of their personal info. I have a street team of interns at my disposal to enter info, or manipulate the passes (such as a hole punched in a certain corner of the card) to determine where the passes came from that were handed in. The nightclub has events on a weekly basis but we also show local/national bands and other more diverse events such as the Bellydance Superstars. We do no sales forecasting or trend forcasting and I recently finished a project of creating and tracking the entire alcoholic beverage based inventory becasue it was never done before on a consistent, all encompassing basis. Hopefully this gives everyone an idea of where my new project will begin. Thank you for your replies

We used an ID scanner as a backup for our doorman. The cashier kept it at her station, the one we used read all info from the id including name, weight, height, sex, age, address, etc. etc. theoretically that information could be used to creat a customer info db. or you could just pass out flyers on the dance floor give the clients a dollar off their next drink for filling one out. Note that is illegal in Arkansas but you get the idea, work around it. Good Luck.
